  • Who can benefit from hypnotherapy?
    Focused Hypnotherapy offers personalized hypnotherapy sessions that can benefit individuals dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, phobias, ADHD/ASD, relationship issues, career development. Hypnotherapy sessions are tailored to help those looking to overcome limiting beliefs, improve mental well-being, and make positive changes in their lives. Whether you are struggling with confidence, motivation, or past trauma, hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool to support your mental and emotional health. Sessions focus on empowering clients to tap into their inner resources, break free from negative patterns, and ultimately, achieve personal growth and healing. All the skills are completely transferable to use in any situation and can be helpful in managing work and working towards career goals. As the focus is on the solution and not re-living the problem it makes an excellent therapy for those dealing with previous trauma. ‍
  • What is 'solution focused' hypnotherapy?
    Solutions focused brief therapy is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on finding solutions to current problems, rather than on past causes or issues. At Focused Hypnotherapy, we incorporate this approach into our hypnotherapy sessions by working with clients to identify their goals and then using hypnosis to help them achieve those goals. By focusing on the present and future, rather than delving into past traumas, we can help our clients make positive changes in a relatively short period of time. This approach is especially effective for clients looking to address specific issues or make quick, tangible changes in their lives. The Hypnotherapy part uses ‘Trance’ a technique that allows you to go into a state of relaxation which helps you to focus on the positive things in life. All the sessions are focused on how to move forwards in a positive and focused way.
  • How do the sessions work?
    Sessions are an hour long and depending on the goal will follow a very similar format. Trance is roughly 25 mins at the end of the session, you will feel very relaxed afterwards but perfectly able to continue with all activities. Sessions can be face to face in Stamford, Lincolnshire or alternatively online via Zoom. I see many clients online and it is just as effective and exactly the same content and format as a face to face session. Some clients prefer this for various reasons but mainly the convenience of being in your home.
  • How does hypnotherapy work at Focused Hypnotherapy?
    I use hypnotherapy as a form of complementary therapy to help individuals access their subconscious mind and make positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. During a hypnotherapy session, as a certified hypnotherapist I will guide you into a state of deep relaxation, also known as a trance. In this state, your conscious mind takes a step back, allowing the me to communicate directly with your subconscious. This enables us to address issues such as anxiety and other concerns by reprogramming negative thought patterns and promoting new, healthier behaviours. It's important to note that hypnotherapy is a collaborative process, and the success of the therapy depends on your willingness to participate and engage in the process. Rest assured, my approach is always client-centered, and we prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment for our clients.
  • How effective is hypnotherapy in treating mental health conditions
    Hypnotherapy has shown to be effective in treating various mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobias, and stress. It is recognised by NICE for IBS and pain relief and is starting to be used more medically to support patients in recovering from operations. I use evidence-based techniques to address the root causes of these conditions, helping clients to access their subconscious and make positive changes at a deep level. By working with a qualified hypnotherapist, clients can experience significant improvements in their mental well-being and learn powerful coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms.
  • How do I know how many sessions I need?
    We will discuss this during the Introduction session, it will depend on what your personal goals or best hopes from therapy are and a general idea on what the typical treatment plan would look like. It is important to note like any therapeutic relationship your involvement in the sessions and in-between is vital to get the best and quickest results. Typical treatment for a specific phobia such as spiders would be two or three sessions. For anxiety you will likely notice an improvement after 3-4 sessions, however it will depend on the cause of the anxiety and what your best hopes are after therapy.
  • Can I just book one session?
    Yes, after the introduction session you may book a one off session, however you will experience the hypnosis in the intro session.

    Yes, we can work together as my insurance covers working internationally and the US is covered, I am governed by UK law and the terms and conditions of working with me include this.
